Recap
Another point, which may prove crucial at the end of the day, was gained on the road as the sides played out a largely uneventful goalless draw. The home side proved to be a tough nut to crack earlier in the season at Heritage Park, and this proved to be the same again, however the two blues carved out the better openings in front of a very healthy away following.
Jack Norton began his third spell at the club with a clean sheet to prove his worth going into the latter stages of the season, and he made the first save of the game on 13 minutes to deny Silsden. Bishops had the ball in the net on the 25-minute mark after the home keeper dropped a cross; however, the referee had blown for a free kick.
The best opening of the game saw a low Jarvie cross deflected just wide of the far post by Roberts. The first half closed out with a spate of yellow cards for the hosts.
Bishops brought on Thexton, Blackford, Risbrough and Hopson by the midway point of the second half in the hope of making a breakthrough, but the game never really opened up for either side.
As the five minutes of additional time began, Bishops had the ball in the Silsden net for a second time courtesy of Brown, but again it proved worthless as an earlier offside had been registered. This proved to be the last action of a frustrating afternoon, but the team remain unbeaten after three games of Martin Gray’s tenure with a home game up next weekend against Heaton Stannington.
