Recap
A stoppage time sucker punch from nine men Ossett Utd denied Bishops’ a battling three points on a rain-soaked evening at Ingfield.
There were several changes to the starting line-up from Saturday’s impressive win against Heaton Stannington, with Blackford and Risbrough replacing Harrison and Steels, and after just five minutes, Mikey Roberts latched onto a Potter header to power home.
Bishops were playing the first half conditions expertly with a high line, and bundles of energy and what appeared to be a wrong offside call denied Harrison a second.
The rain intensified before the break, but the second half started with Bishops still in control, Blackford fashioning a shooting opportunity that went just over the bar.
The home number 10 was dismissed for a late tackle in the mud on 77 minutes, and then player-manager Walshaw, who had subbed himself on earlier, committed a second yellow offence just inside the added-on 5 minutes.
Incredibly, after Bishops almost killed off the game, a free kick was whipped into the box, and Johnson powered a header past Norton to salvage an unlikely point, leaving just seconds for the game to conclude.
