The Blues came in to the game against Seaham off the back of a 5-0 drubbing off North Shields, Hall and Williamson returned to side from injury with Johnson dropping to the bench.

The game started with a quick tempo and was a fairly even affair, the first real chance fell to Seaham on 15 minutes when a header from close range was saved by Dawson in the Bishop goal.

However a minute later Seaham went ahead when Staunch got in front of his man and powered a header past a helpless Dawson to make the score 1-0.

In the 20th minute Bishop went close to equalising when Hoganson sent a great corner in to the box which met Trotters head but the Bishop man couldn’t divert goal wards and the ball when just wide of the Seaham goal.

A minute later trotter had another chance, a well taken shot which was saved by the feet of the Seaham goalkeeper, at the other end Seaham had  a chance to add to their lead but no one could get the telling touch as the ball rolled through the six yard box.

Bishop started the brighter of the two sides in the second half, on 63 minutes Griffiths hit a shot which went just over the Seaham crossbar.

Hall made way for Alex Francis in the 71st minute with Francis slotting in at centre half for the remainder of the game.

However despite a lot of the ball Bishop were not creating chances, and were punished when in the 85th minute Seaham broke away with a swift counter attack and put themselves 2-0 to the good, a shot was well saved by Dawson but the dangerous Lynch was on hand to slot the ball home.

In the dying minutes of the game Trotter was lucky to stay on the pitch when taking down a Seaham player after what looked to be a retaliation for an elbow which he received seconds early., lucky the ref saw fit to only book the Bishop midfielder.

The contest was fairly even overall but Seaham had the cutting edge in the final third which meant they were to take the 3 points, Bishop must now regroup and prepared for Saturday’s game at home to Guisborough Town. A new manger is expected to be announced in time for the game.
