Bishops arrived at the newly crowned champions with Roberts and Jarvie missing through injury, Spence still suspended and Whitfield unavailable.
The first half was a competitive affair and began with a flurry of opportunities falling to former Bishop player Louis Johnson, Norton saving the first and a couple of efforts fired off target.
Another ex-Bishop player, John Howard, opened the scoring for the hosts on 23 minutes with a clean strike on the half volley after a deep cross from the left found him. Blackford brought out a fine diving save from Redcar keeper Mazfari shortly after to tip the shot around the post.
Five minutes into the second half, Johnson grabbed the goal his all action display deserved when he played a nice one two with Anderson and steered his shot past Norton.
A flurry of substitutions in the 59th minute paid off instantly for the ‘Steelmen’ with the imposing figure of Fletcher nodding home a Johnson cross within minutes of coming on.
The champions’ dominance was rubber stamped with further goals from Fewster and then that man again, Johnson, getting on the end of a Boyes assist to slot past Norton. This finished the scoring with seven minutes remaining on a chastening afternoon by the seaside.
