Some words from Chairman, Steve Coulthard, following the appointment of Marc Kennedy as Non-Executive Director:
‘It is my pleasure to announce that Marc Kennedy has joined Bishop Auckland Football Club’s Board of Directors as a Non-Executive Director, effective January 12, 2024.
Marc brings a wealth of experience to the club and his passion for football, combined with his commitment to fostering positive change within local communities, aligns seamlessly with the values and objectives of Bishop Auckland Football Club.
Marc was born and bred in Bishop Auckland, attending Cockton Hill Junior and King James I schools before commencing university in Newcastle. I was a personal friend of Marc’s father, Derek, who owned a construction and plant hire business in the town, while Marc’s mother, Moira, worked at the general hospital for over 20 years.
Marc has held senior leadership roles on significant construction projects and programmes across the UK, Middle East, North Africa, Australasia, and North America. In addition to a construction degree (BSc(Hons)), Marc holds both a Bachelor of Laws (LLB(Hons)), and Master of Laws (LLM) degrees.
He has close ties to Brazil and currently lives in British Columbia, Canada with his wife Silvia and son Elijah.(photo attached)
As a Non-Executive Director, Marc will contribute to the overall governance and strategic direction of the club. His role will involve actively participating in board meetings, providing input into the club’s long terms strategic goals, whilst leveraging his global network to open up new opportunities for the club.
We look forward to a mutually beneficial collaboration with Marc and we are confident that his addition to the board will enhance the club’s capabilities and that his insights and expertise will prove invaluable in steering the club towards sustained success, both on and off the pitch.
Please join me in welcoming Marc to the Bishop Auckland Football Club family.’
