Yesterday, Bishop Auckland FC held their sixth age group in our “Play at the Park Tournaments” at the VEST Construction Stadium, Heritage Park. The tournament was in partnership with Bishop Trains and the Kick it out Campaign and we would like to thank them for their support.
The tournament saw under 8 teams compete from Bishop Juniors, Bishop Auckland St Mary’s, Darlington RA, Riverside Juniors, Newton Aycliffe Juniors, Washington Golds, Hebburn Town and Seaham Redstar.
The cup final saw Darlington RA and Seaham Redstar compete and after a thrilling final, Seaham were triumphant.
After an entertaining plate final, with Bishop Auckland St Mary’s JFC u8 Kings facing Riverside Juniors, Riverside Juniors came out on top, taking the trophy back to Middlesborough.

Well done to, Hebburn Town Bees, Bishop Juniors, Washington Golds and Newton Aycliffe Juniors who all went home with medals.
Holding the event in Partnership with the Kick it Out Campaign, saw us award a player from each team a fair play award. Well done to all those who won awards.
However, all the games were played in great spirit with all players a credit to their clubs.
Thanks to referees Kody and Jacob who without them the games could not go ahead.
Thank you to volunteers, Mike, Jack, Steve, and Sharon who without them generously giving their time, events like this could not take place.
Thank you to Debbie and Chloe, keeping everyone fed and watered.
We can’t forget to thank our mascot, “Bobby the Bishop Boar”. Bobby proved very popular with all visitors today, making lots of friends and he is sure to be back.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event, and all the girls and boy’s teams who have supported us throughout the year, it’s very much appreciated.

We will be back next year with further girls and boy’s tournaments.
