Girls Play at the Park round up

Article written by Luke Atkinson

Thursday night saw us hold our first event of the season with the u10s competing. After a draw at the end of the Plate Final, followed by penalties, it was Boldon Diamond Blue’s who were triumphant over FC Darlington Locomotives.

The cup final saw two very good teams compete with Hartlepool Pools Youth taking the victory over Darlington RA Tornados.

Friday was the turn of the under 9s. Again a very good competition with Bishop Auckland Girls U9s meeting Darlington RA in the plate final with Bishop taking the trophy home.

The cup saw Killingworth Young People’s Club take on Leam Rangers. A very competitive final saw Killingworth come away as winners.

Thank you to all the clubs competing and supporting the event, with some teams travelling quite a distance to attend.

Thank you too, to all our volunteers, Mike, Steve, Jack, Kevin, Sharon, Dougy and Steven who without your support the event could not take place.

A massive thank you to Chloe and Debbie who have worked tirelessly in the Catering Hut, keeping everyone fed and watered during the event.
fianlly, thank you to our referees, Michael, Kody and Cobi who have been brilliant across the two events. As they say,: ‘no ref no game’ – thank you lads.
