Bishop Auckland FC held their third Play at the Park Tournament on Monday evening at the AJS Stadium, Heritage Park. The tournament was kindly sponsored by Aspire Accounts at Barnard Castle, who we would like to thank for sponsoring the tournament. We’d also like to give a huge thank you to all those teams supporting the event.
Teams competed from Seaburn, Newton Aycliffe, Escomb, Heighington and Bishop Auckland.
It was an all Escomb final competing for the Cup. After an exciting final, Escomb Viking’s triumphed over Escomb Saxons to take the cup home.
After a thrilling penalty shoot out in the semi final, Bishop Auckland St Mary’s JFC Aces faced Seaburn Whites in the Plate Final, with Seaburn taking the plate back to Sunderland.
Well done to Newton Aycliffe Youth Eagles, Bishop Auckland St Mary’s JFC Kings, Escomb Warriors and Heighington who all went home with medals.
Medals were presented by our special guest, Premiership Assistant Referee, Gary Beswick.
Thanks to referees Aaron and Kody, who without them the games could not go ahead.
Thank you to volunteers, Mike, Jack, Bev, Marty and Steve and to Debbie and Chloe keeping everyone fed and watered.
There are still spaces left for our under 7 age group (season 23/24) on 16th July. Plate and Cup final – medals for all competitors. Anyone interested please contact Catherine on 07890 340138.
