Following certain events and recent results – there has been an unnecessary amount of criticism on Social Media platforms, including the clubs – some of the comments have been personal to Bishop Auckland FC directors, volunteers, players, management and staff members.
Whilst we understand this is a minority of fans, BAFC will not tolerate this behaviour. Whilst social media supports freedom of speech, where repeated personal attacks on platforms occur, they will be reported to the social media platform providers with access to our sites being blocked or muted to these individuals and in some cases could also lead to a ban from the ground.
We will report any malicious communications or perceived harassment to the local police, and leave any appropriate action in their hands.
As Board Members, may we remind you that we are all volunteers and collectively we try extremely hard to make what we believe are the correct decisions. We fully understand that you may not agree with these decisions all of the time, but let be there no doubt that everyone of us, be it BAFC Board members, volunteers, players, management and staff members always have the Club’s best interest at the heart in what we’re trying to achieve.
We value every one of our supporters, we listen to what you say and we will make improvements where we can. We have recently introduced another of our media team to our social media platforms showing immediate increased and improved communications.
We have put our trust in Manager, Andy Toman, and continue to do so. The results on the pitch are not what any of us want to see, especially yourselves as supporters paying to watch these games. Andy is working hard to bring players in and we have made it clear this is his absolute priority, with his objective to make and see immediate improvements. Due to early injuries and self isolation issues, this has impacted our pitch performance, but we must move on and get some positive results in order that our valued supporters can enjoy the game once again.
