1 Shane Bland

Signed in May 2026, Shane Bland arrived at Bishop Auckland with a wealth of experience and leadership behind him.

The goalkeeper joined the club after a long and successful spell with Whitby Town, where he made 504 appearances across 12 years and became a hugely respected figure at Step 3 level. Known for his professionalism, consistency and strong standards, Shane brings valuable experience to the Bishop Auckland dressing room.

Having spent the majority of his career at a higher level, Shane adds proven quality and know-how between the posts. He has spoken about being attracted by the club’s set-up, supporters, pitch and ambition, as well as the opportunity to be part of a new challenge under Martin Gray.

Shane is determined to help Bishop Auckland move forward, keep clean sheets, set high standards, and play his part in pushing the club back towards where it wants to be.
