Maynard returns to the Park

Having departed for neighbours Willington two seasons ago, Bishop Auckland are delighted to announce the return to its media team of Dean ‘Midas’ Maynard.

In returning, Dean brings with him a wealth of experience picked up not only at Willington, but in other media outlets both here in the region, and further afield, to which he’ll look to implement in his role of ‘Club Reporter/Videographer,’ a position that will see him conduct pre & post-match interviews.

His previous spell at the club saw them reach the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup (losing 2-0 away to Stockport County) and he’s now looking to continue being part of something special.

“I’ve had two magical years at Willington AFC,” began Dean.

“But it’s nice to come back to the club who gave me my first job in football where I helped raise the profile of the club with my interviews and fan interaction.

“I’m more experienced now with loads of fresh ideas that will really help the club moving forward.”

One of Dean’s first appointments will be at our second home friendly, against his now former club, Willington, a fundraiser for our opponents, and Dean’s close friend, Richard Tremewan, on July 18.

Expect to see him, and his video equipment, roaming the sidelines as we head into the 2019/20 Ebac Northern League season, and let’s make it a good one.
