Mitchells Grievson Chartered Accountants have struck up a partnership with Bishop Auckland FC which will ensure a slice of the Clubs’ history can be enjoyed by fans.
For years, a collection of BAFC memorabilia dating back as far as 1891 has been stored in the boardroom of Mitchells Grievson. The collection is primarily BAFC team photos and not only includes items such as early 20th century images but also memorabilia from the late, great BAFC captain and England international Tommy Farrer.
Mitchells Grievson Director, Nigel Rea, who has been with the business over 20 years said: “The collection has been stored here for as long as I have been here. We were having a bit of a clear out and I wanted these items to go back to the Club where they belong”.
The Accountancy firm, based in Bishop Auckland contacted BAFC Commercial Director, Dave Mills and told him about the collection and that they would like to give it back to the Club where it will be enjoyed. Dave was excited to see the collection and said: “It couldn’t be more timely as BAFC are currently working on two projects designed to showcase the Club’s history at their Heritage Park ground”.
The Club greatly appreciates the gesture of the donation of the memorabilia and has invited Mitchells Grievson to a match as our guests in the new year.
