The Check4Life team deliver free national recognised NHS Health Checks. A Check4Life Health Check can assess your risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes and will also give you advice to help reduce or manage your risk. Everyone over the age of 25 has the opportunity to have a free Check4Life Health Check.
During the Health Check you will be asked some simple questions about your lifestyle and medical history. It will also include the measurement and a personal report of:
Body Mass Index, Blood Pressure, Pulse, Waist Circumference, Diabetes Risk Score, Cholesterol (if eligible), Cardiovascular Disease Risk Score (if eligible)
The Check4Life Health Check looks at a person’s lifestyle, to suggest small changes which can prevent the development of more serious health issues in later life. Individuals will be offered lots of personalised help and advice on simple lifestyle changes that can make a huge difference, such as diet and exercise, drinking within recommended limits and quitting smoking.
There are many benefits to having a Check4Life Health Check. As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing something dangerous like high blood pressure, heart disease or diabetes. Your Check4Life Health Check can spot early signs and help prevent these happening to you.
