Bishop Auckland are delighted to add a fourth, home, pre-season friendly this summer as we add Darlington Football Club to the list of opponents, the match taking place on Monday 15 July, kick-off 7pm.
With 135 years worth of history, the Quakers story is a long and varied one dating back to being one of the founder members of the Northern League back in 1889, winning the title twice, in 1896 and 1900 before going on to join, via the North-Eastern League, the Football League, in the 1920s.
Feethams was their home for many-a-way, holding many memories for Quakers fans before moving to the Echo Arena before numerous problems befell the club, it ultimately falling into administration in 2012, and being relegated an unprecedented four divisions, back to the Northern League.
Since then they have rebuilt, on and off the field, and, following numerous promotions over the past few years, currently reside in the Vanarama National League North, finishing in 16th place last season and their new manager, Alun Armstrong, will be sending a strong side, as well several of their new signings.
