Bishops flesh out the squad ahead of new campaign

Manager Ian Chandler has fleshed out his first-team squad ahead of the new campaign with the registration of no fewer than SEVEN players, a number being promoted from the club’s St Mary’s Juniors feeder club.

Aiden Hart retains his place in the squad having collected an injury in the second half of last season, Jordan Lee has first-team experience at nearby Brandon United, whilst Regan Nixon, Bailey Prudhoe, Liam Potter and Gideon Kanyondo have been promoted to the first team.

They’ve been joined with the addition of another centre-half, Leon Carling being joined at the back by Darryl Hall, strengthening a key area on the field.

Here, Chandler breaks down the new additions to the Two Blues squad….

Darryl Hall – an experienced centre-half who is full of aggression and a want-to-win attitude

Regan Nixon – 16-year-old who joins the first team from the U17s St Mary’s squad; has a lovely left foot and scores plenty of goals, it’s nice to give him the opportunity in the first team which he’s taken.

Jordan Lee – member of last seasons U23s squad; he has played quite a few games for Brandon United in the Second Division

Bailey Prudhoe – a local lad who brings experience having been around the club since he was ten; Bailey spent five years at Middlesbrough and one at Hull City before returning to impress in both the U18s and U23s earning promotion to the first team – an exciting prospect

Liam Potter – 17-year-old who played for our U18s last season which I watched many times. He stood out and was only too happy to give him his chance in the first team which he’s taken and is now a regular starting the last three pre-season games

Gideon Kanyondo – another of our U18s players; Gideon is highly thought of and has an abundance of skill and pace; another exciting prospect at the club

Aiden Hart – was an integral part of last seasons’ first team before getting injured around January time. Aidan played his first game back vs. Crook Town, coming on as a substitute and doing very well following the long layoff
