Latest Signings – Building the 2016 / 2017 Squad

Manager Steve Riley and head Coach Nathan Haslam have been working hard since our last game of the 2015 / 2016 season to rebuild the squad with the aim of winning the Northern League.

Latest signings announced today include:

Scott Martindale. A 6ft 3inch defender. Scott, who played last season for Dunston UTS, is physically very strong, plays with both feet very effectively and is very composed on the ball.
Previous clubs include Consett, Newcastle Benfield, Tow law and Hibernian.

Lee Moore. Midfield. With an eye for the future 18-year-old Lee has signed from local rivals Spennymoor Town. A player with masses of potential who reads the game very well, makes good passing decisions and possesses great composure on the ball.

Chris Winn. Centre Forward. Chris, who has played for Washington for the past couple of season has fantastic work ethic and is tremendous team player who has caused many defences problems over the last few seasons. Chris has also played for Dunston UTS.

Scott Pocklington. Goalkeeper. Scott returns for his second spell at Heritage Park having played for South Shields in their promotion winning campaign last season. Scott’s shot stopping and commanding of his penalty box is second to none and is a great addition to the club.

Ryu Williamson. Forward. Former Darlington and Gateshead youth player who last season played for Norton and put in some very impressive performances especially against Bishop last year. Ryu can play either wing and has frightening pace and skill which will cause defences lots of problems
