Bishop Auckland Football Club was proud to be chosen to host a very high-profile regional conference yesterday at Heritage Park
The England Illegal Money Lending Team Conference included presentations for David Tinmouth, Principal Economic Development Officer for County Durham (DCC), Natalie Barker, North East Region Liaise Officer for the England Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT), and Sid Rooke, Director at NEFirst Credit Union.
The conference guest list included some very high profile and influential people across County Durham and the purpose of the conference enabled DCC, IMLT and NEFirst CU to explain how their partnership in tackling illegal money lending in our local community, including details of recent prosecutions within County Durham. It was also very interesting to learn what the partnership has done with proceeds of crime funds in terms of Credit Union Incentives (including BAFC main sponsorship). The event ended with everyone, including Dave Mills on behalf of the Club, signing the Stop Loan Sharks Charter to County Durham.
The event, which was a complete success, provided the Club with an opportunity to showcase our conferencing facilities. The feedback the Club received from the conference organising team, the presenters and many invited guests, was exceptional in every respect!
